GM Genuine Parts Navigation Microphone are designed, engineered, and tested to rigorous standards, and are backed by General Motors. These components are a part of your hands free system such as Bluetooth or OnStar, per vehicle application. These systems listen to verbal commands and then executes them. If a vehicle is equipped with an OnStar module (UE1) the microphones are wired directly to said module. With vehicles not equipped with OnStar, these microphones are routed directly to the radio.
